While I usually stick to the Huntsville, Alabama area for photo sessions, occasionally I get the chance to travel nearby to photograph. This Birmingham family session was one of those opportunities! Rachel and I met a few years ago when she photographed my own family, and she’s been a sweet friend ever since!
This session was full of light, life, and laughter. It’s always such a joy to see siblings interact and to watch their personalities shine. I often get asked, “What if my kids just want to play and won’t sit still?” My answer is always, “That’s perfectly fine!”
I want to capture your family’s authenticity. That doesn’t mean having everyone sit still and smile in different groupings for an hour. We’re going to play games, move around, and explore. When you look back at your images years from now, I want you to be taken right back to this time in your family’s story. The way your oldest became a little mommy for your baby, your daughter’s hand wrapped up in yours, your son’s infectious smile when you tickle his toes. These are the fleeting details I want to document for you.
