Light and Airy Nursery | Huntsville Photographer

One of my favorite things to do during my pregnancies is design the nursery. I’ve had three boys now, but I love to give them their own special rooms and designs. I spend so much time in their nurseries with them as babies, changing, rocking, and singing to them. It’s precious time that I hold dear. Planning and decorating helps me to imagine them being there in my arms, and I dream of all the cuddles and lullabies we’ll share. The process truly helps me to bond with my babies while they’re in my womb. My first son had a simple airplane theme, and my second had a navy and white theme with animals. This time, I decided to go with a light and airy nursery, with blue and white gingham throughout the room. I wanted it to feel simple and classic, and I love how it turned out.

All three of my boys have shared the same crib, and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to part with it! It’s held up so well over the years. Our first dresser/changing table, however, had bitten the dust. It was time for a new one, and I love the one we found from Wayfair. It’s made organizing a little easier, and the changing table topper fits perfectly. I found the glider fifty percent off, and it’s been wonderful – so comfortable! It swivels and reclines, so I can really relax during nursing sessions. My sweet mom gifted us Caleb’s bedding, and I found the rug that matches the vision I had on Wayfair, too. Caleb’s name sign above his bed was a gift from my talented friend.

While the look of my son’s nursery was fun to put together, it’s what happens inside of it that means the most to me. The prayers prayed over him, the songs sung, the cuddles in his chair, the sweet dreams he’ll have in his bed, and the time together is what I hope we both remember most.
