Last fall, I had the immense joy of mentoring with Lindsay Reed, a talented newborn photographer based in Franklin, Tennessee. I love how Lindsay is able to capture cozy lifestyle newborn sessions in-home and was honored to get to learn from her.
We photographed this sweet session together in Franklin, and it couldn’t have been more beautiful. The parents are both musicians, so I love that we were able to incorporate that love into their session. Big sister was precious, wanting to snuggle with her parents and her new baby. The light shone through the window just right, providing a sweet ambiance that fit the mood perfectly.
One thing that drew me to a mentorship with Lindsay was her philosophy of photographing newborns naturally. What could be more natural than a sweet little baby, lovingly cradled in her mom or dad’s arms? We kept baby held for most of the session, and I think it tells the family’s story just right. Two parents, completely in love with each other and their children, holding them safe and sound.
