Beautiful Huntsville In-Home Family Photos

huntsville in home family photos

There’s just something about Huntsville in-home family photos that makes my heart soar with joy. Seeing families comfortable in their own space, surrounded by the people they love, often just finding joy in the simplest of things – it’s a beautiful thing to get to photograph. As a Huntsville family photographer, one of my favorite places to photograph is in homes.

Preparing for Huntsville In-Home Family Photos

Part of my process for preparing for any Huntsville in-home family photos is to take time to get to know the family on a deeper level. Because I don’t want to create cookie cutter images for every family, it’s important that I know who the people that will be in front of my lens are. No two family sessions should be exactly the same, because no two families are exactly the same.

While I got to know the K. family, I learned that they had recently moved to the Huntsville area from across the country. They’re adjusting to being a family of four and just love being together – snuggling, worshiping, taking walks, and watching their boys interact. I knew that I wanted to focus in on the joy that this mama finds in being a mother, and I think we did just that.

If you’re interested in booking Huntsville in-home family photos, too, know that I truly want to get to know you. It’s one of my favorite parts of my job, so don’t be afraid to share what really matters to you.

What to Know Before Your Session

One of the most common misconceptions I hear in regards to in-home family photos is that you can’t have your photos in your house if it’s not (enter your beliefs here) enough. Not big enough, not decorated enough, not clean enough. There are lots of reasons why people think they can’t have photos in their home, even if it’s something they really want.

But can I tell you a secret? When I’m taking Huntsville in-home family photos, I’m not focusing on your home – I’m focusing on your people. Truly, we don’t need a big variety of spaces. We don’t need grand decor straight out of Magnolia Magazine. We really just need some beautiful light streaming through the windows and the love you share with your family.

You’ll notice that in this session, we stayed in one area of the home. Not because the rest of the house wasn’t lovely, but because the light was perfect right where we were. And because it was their home, everyone felt natural and comfortable. We were able to create such beautiful images together, focusing on connection, not decor.
