When Do I Schedule Huntsville Newborn Photography?
This question is so important. You don’t want to schedule too early, but do you wait until baby has been born? Here’s my honest answer: schedule your session as soon as you feel comfortable, ideally in the second trimester, or early in the third. But try not to wait until the very end of your pregnancy or until baby is here.
As a Huntsville newborn photographer, I’m scheduling sessions out months in advance, and I don’t want you to miss out on photos with me if you’re really desiring that. When you contact me about newborn photos, I pencil in your due date but know that baby comes when baby comes! We can schedule the exact day and time after baby has been born, but having your due date on my calendar ensures that I have time set aside just for you. So don’t wait too long!
Where Do I Take Newborn Photos in Huntsville?
I specialize in photographing newborns in my clients’ homes. Don’t let this scare you! Your home does not need to be huge, or perfectly decorated, or straight out of a magazine for your newborn photos to be beautiful. All we need is pretty natural light coming in through the windows, and your wonderful family loving each other. That’s it. Then I work my magic.
The truth is that I’m not there to photograph your home. I’m there to capture connection and real life moments. That can take place in any room in your home, and I find that families feel so much more at ease in their homes. Those real emotions come out, they relax, and the moments we document are so sweet.
I’ll help you plan ahead so you know where we’ll focus our time, based on where the light is best in your home. No need to have every room tidy! You will have just had a baby, after all!
Do My Other Kids Get to Take Part?
OF COURSE! If this isn’t your first baby, we will absolutely include the whole family! Pets, too, if you want! Newborn photography in Huntsville, Alabama doesn’t mean it’s only for the newborn. This part of your story is a huge chapter for the entire family, and we want to make sure we capture moments with everyone.
So if it’s your first baby or your fifth, the entire family is welcome. Some of my favorite moments are those with siblings!
What Do We Wear?
This one’s tough for most people, so I am as hands-on as you’d like me to be in helping select outfits for the whole family. After you book, I’ll send you a questionnaire to get to know you better. A couple of the questions involve your personal style and whether you’d like assistance in selecting wardrobe. If you do, I’ll create a custom style board for you, with links to any wardrobe pieces included. Then we can tweak it, you can add outfits in that you already have, or you can purchase everything I listed, if you like!
Part of my goal is to make this as stress-free as possible. So it’s truly a joy for me to serve you in this way!
What is the Newborn Session Actually Like?
If you choose me as your Huntsville newborn photographer, your newborn session will hopefully be a sweet memory. We’ll go slow, capturing details, connection, and joy. I allow for plenty of breaks for whoever in the family may need it. Toddlers can come in an out as they need, newborns can pause for changes or feedings. There’s no need to rush or push through.
We’ll photograph in dreamy light, we’ll play if you have older kids, and we may even venture outside if it feels natural to your family. There are no set rules. Every family’s session will look a little different, because every family is different. And I want your photos to reflect that. This season will go by in the blink of an eye, but you should be able to transport yourself back every time you look at your images.
